Notes

To tell this apart from the Eurasian Acorus calamus: A. americanus has 2-6 equally raised veins forming a broad, striated mid-section along the blade. A. calamus has a strong, often cartilaginous, notably raised midvein that is OFFSET from the middle of the blade.
